My personal opinions and Experience with nopolitics artist “LZA”
When I think of an artist like LZA and what he represents organically — I think of a brother who has made it somewhat easier to locate the realist aspects of yourself and address the insecurities we all face in some way form or fashion and work towards evolving and changing our flaws. This artist is probably one of the most humble God fearing artist I ever met. He puts God first in everything he say and do , which speaks volume to me as a consumer and supporter of his craft. His style is extremely vibrant and transparent , it literally becomes a interpersonal moment in time when you’re listneing to how clear his words come across harmonically and the intent of his message depending on the topic of the song. In my opinion he’s the definiton of “Slow & Steady” his moves are extremely calculated and drilled with precision. He’s definitely an artist you need to be made aware of and support . YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE CULTURE
“I really dont know yet , I dont think of those type of things since I feel like I’m on the inside looking out . I’m focused on living in my purpose and pushing out this truth to the people , and one of the ways that God has given me a way to do that is through the talent of music. Realistically , I just want people to get to know God and be inspired how I’m inspired by him. If that can be considered my contribution to the culture , that people get to know God because of the seed that was sown in them by the music, then that’s the victory for The Most High. None of these things are of my doing , I’m just a vessel. So I aspire my contribution to the culture to be that our people return to the most high God and really get to know him , love him, and serve him according to his word so we can all get right.”
MORE ABOUT YOUR EVOLUTION PERIOD
“So realistically , its been a process of 5 years — that’s when I really started to learn about The Most High and getting connected to his word. But in the last 3 years that’s when all these changes really started to take place and I became serious about my growth as a man.
My brother Riel Peters told me a long time ago to “Be a man that defines his art and not a man that’s defined by his art…” most people think about it like — well what’s the difference ? Well, because I’m seeking and living for a higher purpose now , to be aligned with God means my message increases.
It’s an alignment and it’s going to resonate with the people , a person that’s defined by their art — they chase trends , their trying to always do whats next or fit in the mold. So they don’t mind creating music that’s detrimental to people spirits , to their mental and emotional health. Their using their identity as an artist to define them as a person instead of the other way around.
As a man , I’m learning to stand in integrity and honesty . I care about the community , my music is directly shaped by my core values — my code of conduct , and being disciplined and applying God’s word in my life helped me evolve into the person that I am today. That’ why I’m able to create the music I create , it’s really to exalt and honor him (God) and with this music I just want people to understand my experiences of growing with God and how to become that light realistically.”
YOUR GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS ?
“With music I just see myself as a vessel , I dont think of myself as this great super phenomon of an artist because for one I know I exist just as a tool to spread a message. I see music as a tool as a craft to spread The Word of God . Really all I can ever aspire with music is to sow a seed and lead people to the lake. I want people to heal , I want people to grow , I want people to become stronger and believe in themselves by believing in The Most High. That’s my goal , my aspiration — Obviously it’s not up to me on how big things become but that’s what I aspire for , whoever listens to my music , that they are able to really lock in and become the greatest verison of themselves.”
SPEAK ABOUT YOUR MENTAL SPACE SURROUNDING YOUR LATEST ALBUM “LIVE MORE WORRY LESS”
“This album was about inspiring people to disconnect from a world of clicks and scrolls and really getting out in the world and living their best life. I’ve seen the damage that social media has done to our people and it’s influence and really redirecting the trajectory of mankind. You can literally create an persona about who you desire to be instead of accepting who you actually are. I’ve dealt with that myself , but going through the scriptures , applying the word of God and learning — it peels all those facade back and you have to face the person that you are and really take that honest look in the mirror.
So when creating this album , it’s really like a journal of my life breaking through the fascads that had been built up in my mind through ego and pride. Giving those expereinces to inspire others to reconnect with themselves and reconnect with God to go out there and live their life. So for me this was more like a venting and therapy session — getting my thoughts out , overcoming the person that I am inside , battling with those demons and overcoming those struggles. But really it’s just to help show people that they can do the same for themselves. ”
TELL US ABOUT WHAT’S TO COME IN THE NEAR FUTURE
“There’s alot of new projects coming out from nopolitics , even this year ’24 this isn’t just the end . Lord’s will , we can get some more shows more interviews and alot of communty based events where we can bring this album to life for the people , because at the end of the day thats what it’s for — For The People. We got some big nopolitics events and momentous occasions coming this year so I’m excited for those things to come out at the top of the year ’25. Outside of pushing this album , it’s being back in the lab and working on what’s next and we already got a direction working with my producer Myles. We already set course a plan now it’s just time to execute it. So Lord’s will , outside of the new music that’s dropping with the camp , you’ll be seeing a new project next Spring.”
